Oracle against Edom; Christ sacks the Earthly

The word is toward those from Edom and Esau the brother of Jacob, foretelling an excess of evils for them (for this is the “you will be drunk and you will pour out”), about whom David also says: “remember, O Lord, the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, those saying: empty, empty, until the foundation in it.” For being brothers and neighbors, they preserved the ancestral hate. And having spoken about Christ unto a season he also remembered this. For Christ was about to sack the one called Earthly, working a heavenly. For virtue and knowledge are threatening toward those who love errors and passions—whose drunkenness is the death of the flesh, and over-outpouring also the putting-to-death of its mindset.
