So after receiving the morsel he went out immediately; and it was night.
Night is a symbol of the darkness into which the betrayer goes out.

Ἡ νὺξ σύμβολον τῆς σκοτίας εἰς ἣν ἐξέρχεται ὁ παραδιδούς.
