Because I speak the truth you do not believe
“But because I speak the truth, you do not believe me.”
Truth-lovers believe the truth; for lie-lovers, speaking the true itself becomes the cause of unbelief.

Ἐγὼ δὲ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι.
Τοῖς φιλαλήθεσιν ἡ ἀλήθεια πιστεύεται· τοῖς δὲ φιλευδέσιν αὐτὸ τὸ ἀληθὲς λέγειν αἴτιον γίνεται τοῦ μὴ πιστεύεσθαι.
