He was a murderer from the beginning
“He was a murderer from the beginning, and he does not stand in the truth.”
“From the beginning” of murdering the human — not from the beginning of creation was he such, but when he stood away from the truth.

Ἐκεῖνος ἀνθρωποκτόνος ἦν ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ οὐκ ἔστηκεν.
Ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς τοῦ φονεύειν τὸν ἄνθρωπον· οὐ γὰρ ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς τῆς δημιουργίας ἦν τοιοῦτος, ἀλλ᾽ ὅτε ἀπέστη τῆς ἀληθείας.
