In one sense the same person sows and reaps; in another, another sows and another reaps
In one register the same person both sows and reaps, as in the psalm we set beside. In the present saying, though, “one sows and another reaps” — when the prophets sow and the apostles reap.

Ἐν μὲν οὖν τῷ παρόντι ἄλλος ἐστὶν ὁ σπείρων καὶ ἄλλος ὁ θερίζων· ὁ αὐτὸς μὲν σπείρει καὶ θερίζει καθ’ ὃ παρεθέμεθα ἐν ψαλμοῖς.
ἄλλος δέ ἐστιν ὁ σπείρων καὶ ἄλλος ὁ θερίζων ἐν τῇ προκειμένῃ λέξει, ὅταν οἱ προφῆται σπείρωσιν καὶ οἱ ἀπόστολοι θερίζωσιν.
