[He says] that no effort should be expected from the human will, contrary to the Gospel, where the Lord says: “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; whoever seeks finds; and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7–8).
