Wisdom continues: “Who will accuse you if nations you made perish, when there is no other God besides you, who cares for all? But since you are just, you order all things justly. You consider condemning someone who should not be punished foreign to your power, for your power is the beginning of justice” (Wisdom 12:12–16). This certainly agrees with the common reasoning of sensible people that justice is the greatest mark of God—a justice that Manichaeus and the advocate of inherited sin deny with every effort of their fables.
