I explained some scriptural testimonies at greater length and others more briefly, because I promised to handle them fully in the work that would follow. Thus none of Augustine's arguments and propositions there remained without refutation, and I carried out nothing differently from what I had promised. I exposed many falsehoods, many absurdities, and many sacrileges in his inventions.
