Matthew 19:29
Luke has also added concerning a wife — according to Paul, who commands to honor “elder women as mothers, younger as sisters in all purity.” Just as he gives brothers who are not brothers, parents who are not parents, and children who are not children, so also a wife who is not a wife, fulfilling the intimacies in another, clearly spiritual manner, not bodily. Leaving the race according to the flesh is good for the spiritual life; for he says to separate from parents and from a wife when they drag toward impiety. Just as one must despise soul and body for piety, so one must also prefer this to all things.
