Flee desire-passions; baptism type; whole-body leprosy paradox opens
Cyril: …and with the outcomes themselves somehow already cooling-off the mind. And wise toward this, the to bend-away very well to try the passions, even if in bare still the desires they should be seen happening; for this, I think, is the of leprosy itself and of whiteness to depart. For you learned-through that of most as much the according to us oversight God being according to nature the Emmanuel thinks-worthy, the great our High Priest, and he receives on the one hand the bad having been washed-out, and he sends-out then of the of the holy ones camp, if he should look-down having been defiled. (Hebrews 4:14)
Palladius: True the word.
Cyril: ‘For holy you will be,’ he says, ‘because I am holy.’ (Leviticus 11:44) And observe, that having washed the garments the one of the cause having been released, clean he will be he says, the through water cleansing pre-sounding the law, and as in types for us the in bodily sense, the of the holy baptism writing-down mystery.
Palladius: I understand.
Cyril: See then therefore, O Palladius, the much very intense of the law. For he rearranges as it were the thoughts of us upon the oppositely having, and the completing unto benefit through every as it were he under-shows manner.
Palladius: How then do you say?
Cyril: For he said again: ‘And a touch of leprosy, if it should become in a human, and he will come toward the priest, and the priest will see, and behold a white scar in the skin, and this changed a white hair, and from the healthy of the flesh the living in the scar, an aging leprosy it is in the skin of his flesh, and the priest will defile him, and will separate him, because he is unclean. And if blooming it should bloom-out leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the leprosy should cover every skin of the touch from head unto his feet, according to whole the seeing’ (Leviticus 13:9-12)
Palladius: And what would be understood by us in at least this of the turning-against the manner?
Cyril: For do you not understand that leprosy on the one hand we were affirming to be, the from a part dying in living flesh, and cast-away was the one with the disease held, as having been defiled?
Palladius: I understand.
Cyril: Look then therefore, that somehow is turned-around for us the matter then again unto the oppositely having. For if then it should become, he says, whole throughout leprous, and with a dying held, nothing having healthy, let him be released then of the unto
