I am the flower of the field; lily among thorns
I am the flower of the field and the lily of the valleys. As a lily among thorns, so is my friend among the daughters. Christ is the flower that appeared in the field of the world; the lily for the lowly in the valley. The church is a lily among thorns of persecutions and scandals. Thorns prick; the lily keeps its brightness.
