Psalm 9:16 — nations were stuck in the corruption they made; vice versus incorruption

“Nations were stuck in the corruption they made; in this snare which they hid, their foot was caught” (Psalm 9:16).

And indeed, against virtue, which is called incorruption, as in: “Grace be with those who love our Lord in incorruption” (Ephesians 6:24), the vice that is oppositely disposed would reasonably be called corruption and decay. It has been said, then: “If anyone corrupts, God will corrupt this one” (1 Corinthians 3:17). And in the prophet: “Because of uncleanness they have been corrupted with corruption.”
