Clean is what parts the hoof and chews the cud. Cud-chewing is meditating the law; the split hoof is discerning works. Require both.

Mundum quod ungulam findit et ruminat. Ruminatio — meditatio legis; ungula fissa — discretio operum. Utrumque require.
