Tears as vintage; wait until God peeks in oversight
For the tears cut me down, he says, just as a precise vintager a vine; and according to Symmachus, that the tears drowned me, by the metaphor of those being choked in waters. And enduring I will endure the Lord, until he turns his face away from us. And God’s peeking-through shows counting us worthy of the oversight. And he interprets the “beyond all” by bringing it upon all—that is, upon their calamities; for the female gender is more pitiable than that of the males.
