Gates sunk; king and law lost; soul becomes Babylon

For as if swallowed by earth or sea they have become unseen. And king and rulers and the false prophets have also perished, and her law by necessity of slavery—which indeed by choice even before being captured they had dissolved. And gates of a soul are the senses, which when she sins are both flooded by passions and become earthy. And the powers of the soul that keep these also are loosed, when mind that rules and ruling reasonings have perished in the passions—when both law and order of the soul are destroyed and she becomes Babylon, being full of Confusion, having nothing providential helped by God.
