Soul stripped of gifts; mourning promised comfort
The soul, then, having received from the one who created her many strong and chosen gifts, having been deprived of these through wickedness and paying penalties, confesses what she has suffered. And the time called unto being crushed is the time of repayment, when according to Ezekiel all the righteous deeds which the righteous one has done will not be remembered in a day of sin. And mourning the things that have befallen she is benefited—those who mourn and weep having the promise of comfort and of laughter.

Η τοίνυν ψυχὴ πολλὰ παρὰ τοῦ κτίσαντος αὐτὴν λαβοῦσα δυαατά τε καὶ ἐκλεκτὰ χαρίσματα, τούτων διὰ κακίαν ἐστερημένη καὶ τίνουσα δίκας, ὃ πέπονθεν ὁμολογεῖ. ὁ δὲ κληθεὶς εἰς τὸ συντριβῆναι καιρός ἐστιν ὁ τῆς ἀνταποδόσεως, ὅτε κατὰ τὸν Ἰεζεκιὴλ οὐ μνησθήσεται πάντων τῶν δικαιωμάτων ὡν πεποίηκεν ὁ δίκαιος ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἁμαρτίας x003C;. πενθοῦσα δὲ τά συμβεβηκότα ὠφελεὶται, τῶν πενθούντων καὶ κλαιόντων ἐπαγγελίαν ἐχόντων τὴν παράκλησιν καὶ τὸν γέλωτα.
