Sold into enemies’ hands§1

1 They did evil and were sold into the hand of Cushan-rishathaim — an aerial prince. Sin hands us over under the powers.

2In tribulation they cry to the Lord. Tribulation converts. He hears penitents’ groans.

3 He raised a savior, Othniel — “God’s time for me.” The Lord’s Spirit on him; he judged Israel; the land rested.

4 When Othniel died they again did evil. Without the judge comes relapse. Let Christ our judge always live in us. Amen.
