Ai and the first reverse
We beg hearers not to chase the bare letter with unbelieving readers. After Jericho Jesus sends a few against Ai; they turn their backs. Sin is in the camp: Achan has stolen from the ban. Until it is purged, the people cannot stand before enemies.

Deprecamur auditores non cum Iudaeis litteram solam sectari. Post Hiericho Iesus mittit ad Gai — paucos; terga vertunt. Peccatum in castris: Achan de anathemate furatus. Donec purgetur, non stabit populus ante hostes.
