Because I speak the truth, you do not believe me
“But because I speak the truth, you do not believe me. Which of you convicts me concerning sin?”
It is paradoxical that speaking the truth is the cause of unbelief; yet to lovers of lies the truth is distasteful.

Ἐγὼ δὲ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι. τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με περὶ ἁμαρτίας;
Παράδοξον μὲν τὸ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω αἴτιον τοῦ μὴ πιστεύεσθαι· τοῖς δὲ φιλευδέσιν ἡ ἀλήθεια ἀηδής ἐστιν.
