Heracleon on My food: those saved as food for the Savior
Heracleon takes “My food is” to mean that those the Savior saves are his food — they are his nourishment, he says.
We will beware of the absurdity that the Savior needs food. Better to hear that doing the Father’s will is food for him.

Ὁ δὲ Ἡρακλέων διὰ τοῦ· Ἐμὸν βρῶμά ἐστιν· τοὺς σωζομένους ὑπὸ τοῦ σωτῆρος βρῶσιν αὐτοῦ εἶναι λέγει· οὗτοι γάρ, φησίν, τροφὴ αὐτοῦ.
ἡμεῖς δὲ φυλαξόμεθα μὴ εἰς ἀτοπίαν ἐκπεσεῖν, ὡς τοῦ σωτῆρος δεομένου τροφῆς· βέλτιον γὰρ ἀκούειν ὅτι τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρὸς ποιεῖν αὐτῷ τροφή ἐστιν.
