A woman evangelizes Christ first here; later a woman announces the resurrection
Here a woman announces the Christ; at the end of the Gospels a woman who saw him before all the others tells the apostles of the Savior’s resurrection.
Those from the city went out and were coming to him — going out, as it were, to do good. Such readings ask for a careful ascent into what is written about the water-jar.

Καὶ ἐνταῦθα μὲν γυνὴ εὐαγγελίζεται τὸν Χριστόν, ἐπὶ τέλει δὲ τῶν εὐαγγελίων καὶ τὴν ἀνάστασιν τοῦ σωτῆρος τοῖς ἀποστόλοις ἡ πρὸ πάντων αὐτὸν θεασαμένη γυνὴ διηγεῖται.
οἱ δὲ ἐκ τῆς πόλεως ἐξῆλθον καὶ ἤρχοντο πρὸς αὐτόν, ἐπείπερ αὐτοὶ ἐξῆλθον εὐποιοῦντες ἐκ τῆς πόλεως. καὶ ὅτι τοιαῦτά τινα δηλοῦται, ἀκριβέστατα εἰς τὰς ἀναγωγὰς τῶν γεγραμμένων περὶ τῆς ὑδρίας θεωρητέον.
