“When he comes he will tell us all things”: Mosaic blessing read of Christ
Attend also to “When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Does the Samaritan woman, from tradition, already take Moses’ blessing on Judah as speaking of Christ?
That blessing says, “Lying down he rested as a lion and as a cub; who will raise him up?” and what follows points to the nations’ hope in him.

Θεωρητέον καὶ τό · Ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἐκεῖνος, ἀναγγελεῖ ἡμῖν ἅπαντα · πότερον ἀπὸ παραδόσεως ἡ Σαμαρεῖτις τὴν Μωϋσέως πρὸς Ἰούδαν εὐλογίαν εἰς Χριστὸν ἀναφέρει.
ἔχει γοῦν ἡ εὐλογία · Κατακλιθεὶς ἀνεπαύσατο ὡς λέων καὶ ὡς σκύμνος · τίς ἀναστήσει αὐτόν; καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς δηλοῦται ἡ τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐλπὶς ἐπ’ αὐτόν.
