Seven women seek one who takes away reproach

Seven women suffer reproach and seek the one who can take it away; they will eat their own bread and wear their own clothes. They are one Spirit — the spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Worldly wisdom heaps shame on Christ’s wisdom.

Septem mulieres patiuntur opprobrium et quaerunt eum qui possit auferre opprobrium earum. Promittunt suum panem manducare et vestimentis suis operiri. Septem mulieres una sunt — Spiritus Dei: spiritus sapientiae et intellectus, consilii et virtutis, scientiae et pietatis, timoris Domini. Singulae patiuntur opprobrium a falsis sapientiis saeculi.
