Homilies on Ezekiel, Homilia VI · §1

Prophets’ constancy; Ezekiel bolder than Isaiah

Prophets feared God more than men. Isaiah cried Hear, rulers of Sodom; Ezekiel must make known to Jerusalem her abominations — still harder constancy.

Latin

Consideranti constantiam prophetarum miraculum subit — magis Deo quam hominibus crediderunt. Admirabar Esaiam antequam compararem Ezechiel: audite principes Sodomorum. Ezechiel iubetur notas facere Hierusalem abominationes suas.
