Theological Theses · §847

Implicit Church-faith alone insufficient; explicit Creed articles required for salvation

Rome concedes that merely believing in general what the Church believes, with no explicit grasp of any mystery, does not suffice for salvation.

Private persons may hold many dogmas only implicitly, but each believer needs some express explicit cognition of at least the principal Creed articles; that cognition may still be rude and confused.

Latin

XXVII.
