Son of David and Abraham: Word made flesh to undo death
Thus he was working our salvation gloriously, fulfilling the promise made to our fathers and repairing the ancient disobedience. The Son of God therefore became son of David and son of Abraham; for he fulfilled the promise by recapitulating all things in himself to restore life to us. (Mt 1:1; Eph 1:10)
The Word of God became flesh through the Virgin, in order to destroy death and give life back to the human being. (Jn 1:14; 2 Tim 1:10) For before his coming we were in the bonds of sin, born guilty and subject to death. (Rom 5:12)
