From Christ's charges Teach all nations and Preach to every creature it rightly follows that those disciples were given apostolic authority — not pinned to one church or nation, but aimed at the whole world. It also follows that the wall which shut Gentiles from God's church was broken down, and that the Gospel was to be preached not to Jews alone but to Jews and Gentiles, Greeks and barbarians, wise and unwise — as Paul says in Rom. 1.
