Cap. V Obj. 6 Sol: Christ Head has causal priority — even the destined grafting comes from him

Click or tap any sentence to jump there. The side buttons skip a paragraph.

Christ the Church's Head is so joined to all his members that he holds causal priority over all the rest, and every outflow of free good to others comes through and for him — not only after they are grafted into Christ by faith, but so that even the benefit of being destinated to be grafted by faith is fetched from him and conferred on us in him. That Christ was predestinated Savior of the faithful only is true — he leads all the predestinated to salvation only by faith — not because faith is found in all the predestinated before the election decree itself.
