Matthew 17:3–7
What they speak together shows that the prophets of old uttered the same things as Christ, even if in riddles. The disciples fall from extreme fear, and the Savior raises them, showing that unless he had become flesh, mediated between God and humans, and strengthened our nature, it could not have borne to hear God’s voice.

Νῦν δὲ καὶ κοφίνους ἐγέμισεν καὶ ὅτι μᾶλλον ἑνὶ ἑκάστῳ τῶν μαθητῶν ἐδόθη εἰς μισθὸν τῆς διακονίας, δι' οὗ σημαίνεται, ὅτι οἱ διακονούμενοι πολὺν ἕξουσιν τὸν μισθόν. ἐπειδὴ καὶ ὁ ἄλλος εὐαγγε λιστὴς "κριθίνους" λέγει τοὺς ἄρτους, ὁ τῆς θεωρίας σκοπὸς εἰς τοῦτο ὁρᾷ· ἡ κριθὴ κτηνώδης ἐστὶ τροφή, ἥτις ἐστὶν ἡ διὰ Μωσέως θεωρία τοῖς ἀλογωτέροις προσενεχθεῖσα· διὰ τοῦτο δὲ καὶ πέντε τοὺς ἄρτους φαμὲν διὰ τὸ πενταμερὲς τοῦ Μωσέως συγγράμματος, δύο δὲ τοὺς ἰχθύας, δι' ὧν δηλοῦται ἡ διττὴ τῶν ἁλιέων συγγραφή, ἀποστολική τε καὶ εὐαγγελική.
