Θεῷ γὰρ ἂν πρέποι καὶ μόνῳ τὸ δύνασθαι πάντα δρᾶν· ὡς καὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ θανάτου καταλῦσαι τὸ κράτος, καὶ τὸ τῇ φθορᾷ κάτοχον σῶμα τῇ τῆς ἀφθαρσίας στεφανῶσαι χάριτι. οὐκοῦν ὑπέμεινεν ἑκὼν τὸ ἀσθενῆσαι βραχὺ κατά γε τὴν τῆς σαρκὸς φύσιν·
