Heaven under God’s feet; names in heaven on Christ; breastpiece of judgments begins

Cyril: For since having come to be in Egypt those from Israel have served the creation, and were calling heaven god, usefully the Lord of the wholes was also appearing having stepped upon the firmament itself, that they might know that he has all things under feet, and is master of the heavens themselves, as craftsman. So then you understand that as some type and imaging of heaven the sacred Letter makes the stone pale-ing as in moderate light? for blue-rayed by nature.

Palladius: You have spoken most excellently.

Cyril: So then a sign of heaven is the emerald, having Israel written according to race, and having obtained as place the shoulder-piece, through which it will be present to think, that whoever should be those who have obtained the registration in heaven, these altogether and wholly will rest upon Christ, all but also having them upon shoulders, and making the good as in an order of children. And such also the divine Moses said, beautifying Israel with the sparing from God: ‘As an eagle should shelter its nest, and upon its nestlings it yearned, spreading its wings it received them, and took them up upon its mid-backs.’ (Romans 1:25) But somehow also David sings for every holy one, and one having dwelt in help of the Highest, ‘Upon his mid-backs he will overshadow you,’ (Deuteronomy 32:11) he says. Mid-backs somehow as I myself think the under-neck parts, and the as in shoulders hinting, and not altogether the backs. So then upon shoulders they will be lifted, according to the prophet’s voice, and upon arm they will be taken up according to the ancient Ephraim, those who have obtained the above registration, which as well-famed and worthy-of-marvel and lying-above the beauty of the divine gifts the Savior himself has declared, saying thus to the holy disciples: ‘Do not rejoice that the demons are subjected to you, but rejoice rather that your names have been written in the heavens.’ (Psalm 91:4) And he says the registration at least in the stones will be a memorial for the sons of Israel opposite Lord, all but also of one gazing-intently, as in Aaron; for God and Father receives us unto remembrance in Christ, and we have become in him both known and worthy of oversight, and as in a book of God.

Cyril: And another adornment he orders must be brought alongside for this saying, ‘And you will make little shields from pure gold having been mixed, and you will make two tassels from pure gold having been mixed in flowers a work of plaiting, and you will set the plaited tassels upon the little shields and their shoulder-straps from the front things. And you will make an oracle of the judgments, a work of a weaver according to the rhythm of the shoulder-piece, you will make it from gold and hyacinth, and purple and spun scarlet, and spun linen, you will make it square, it will be double of a span the length and of a span the breadth, And you will weave in it a weave according to the (Luke 10:20) (Exodus 28:13–17) (Exodus 28:15)
