On Adoration and Worship in Spirit and Truth, Book 11 · §13

Sons’ tunics/girdles; linen trousers; consecrate with calf and rams

Cyril: …thin has the warlike gear come to be, both headdress and belt. So then with a priest-fitting adornment he shows Aaron bright and worthy-of-marvel. And he orders further saying: ‘And for the sons of Aaron you will make tunics and belts, and headdresses you will make for them unto honor and glory. And you will put them on Aaron your brother, and his sons with him. And you will anoint them, and fill their hands, and sanctify them, that they may priest for me. And you will make for them linen trousers to cover shame of their skin, from loin until thighs it will be. And Aaron will have them and his sons, when they enter into the tent of the testimony, or when they approach to liturgize toward the altar of the holy. And they will not bring sin upon themselves, that they may not die. An age-long lawful thing for him and for his seed after him.’ (Exodus 28:40–43) You see that also for those from Aaron themselves it is fitting to be seen as at least in the warlike shape. For fight-ready is the sacred race altogether…

Cyril: Thus it holds; and with such a stole he beautifies the sacred and chosen race, and sanctifies also otherwise, as still in shadow, yet in Christ. For it has been written thus: ‘And these are what you will do for them, to sanctify them so as for them to priest for me: you will take one calf from cattle, and two unblemished rams, and unleavened breads mixed in oil, and unleavened cakes anointed in oil. Fine flour from wheat (Exodus 29:1–2) (Exodus 28:42) (Exodus 29:1)
