But someone will say veneration should be given both to this highest one who made all things and to those who partly benefited. First, it never happened that one who culted these also culted God, nor can it happen, because if the same honor is given to others, He Himself is not culted at all, whose religion is to believe that He is the one and only God.
Scripture cries that they are no gods who were made so by men. It is given that they could by no means become gods, because they were not even upright humans and did in their life things that bear everlasting death.
