Hippolytus — Refutation of All Heresies 8.25
But the Phrygians, taking the beginnings of their heresy from a certain Montanus and Priscilla and Maximilla, thinking the women to be prophetesses and Montanus a prophet, suppose that they speak rightly about the origin and fashioning of the whole, and they have not taken up things about Christ in a foreign way; yet together with what was said before they go astray, attending to their words above the Gospels, and appointing new and strange fasts.
